The Fair Housing Project (FHP) is pleased to announce that Corrine Yonce has joined the team as the Education and Outreach Coordinator.

The Fair Housing Project of the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) is a statewide training, outreach and advocacy program that works with municipal officials, regional and municipal planners, housing and service providers, business leaders and the general public to help increase housing opportunities for persons in protected classes under fair housing laws, and to enhance inclusiveness of communities in Vermont

Corrine’s experience advocating for fair and affordable housing has diverse roots, from her experience as a mentor to an incarcerated woman, to biking across the country raising money for and building affordable homes, and going on to work as a hotline advocate in a domestic abuse shelter. However, Corrine really cut her teeth in the housing world as a project manager at the Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition, where she served for two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA and continues to develop the cross-sector, multimedia project, Voices of Home. Voices of Home has the dual goals of building community among low-income, often marginalized citizens and telling policymakers and the broader community the story of affordable housing.

“I am excited to join this community of housing educators,” Corrine said, “Listening to the stories of affordable housing residents for four years has solidified my belief that safe, fair housing is a crucial for every community to thrive.”
